Tumbled Treasure was born out of my family’s love of Beach Combing or Treasure Hunting, as we call it!  As a child I remember treasure hunting for sea glass and shells with my mum, on family holidays to the beach and keeping our Treasure in jars on window sills to allow the light to shine through our finds and remind us of our holiday.

100_6096Today I am lucky enough to live by the sea in North Cornwall, with my husband, our two wonderful daughters – and a mad dog!  Trips to the beach are frequent and we rarely leave without finding treasure that has been tumbled naturally by the waves and deposited on our beautiful tidal beaches, just waiting to be found before it is whisked away again by the waves….

Not only are my daughters’ my chief Treasure Hunters, but their drawings of mermaids and jellyfish, feature throughout this site. They are my most fervent critics, but also my biggest fans and with theirs and my family and friends support, I have been able to turn a previous hobby in to much more.

2014-03-26 09.14.18When it comes to making the jewellery and other items, I am mainly self-taught.  Classes at school in both copper work and silver-smithing have helped me develop the styles I use for hand-crafting the pieces I make and I am always re-inventing the way I work and finding new ways to show off the sea glass and other treasure at their best.  I also hope to begin experimenting with clear resin in the future – so watch this space!!!

Thank You for your Friendship & Support
